Hit a woman with a hammer - the woman will be gold. Is it so?
This saying arose when a woman could not divorce and leave her husband. I got married - and that's it, nothing can be done. If the husband beat his wife, then she was afraid of him, so she behaved with him so as not to anger, appease, indulge. To not hit again. But I very much doubt that she did it sincerely. Most likely, she secretly hated and despised. There was no need to talk about love between spouses.
Thank God, I did not have such an experience, and I would not allow myself to live with a man who would raise his hand against me. And I don't understand women who endure beatings and forgive their fiendish husbands. Only a weak man, offended by fate, can hit a woman. This proverb comes from the old times, when it was customary for "men" to beat their "women" for order, to show who was the boss. But we live in a modern civilized society and hitting a woman is nonsense, even if she is very guilty. Sometimes a word can hit you harder.
