What are Russia's obligations under the Minsk Agreements?

  • Russia, within the framework of the Minsk agreements, is the guarantor of their implementation, just like Germany and France. Three parties participate in the Minsk Agreements: Ukraine, DPR and LPR. Russia, using its political influence on the DPR and LPR, helps these republics fulfill the terms of the Minsk agreements.

  • Russia is, in fact, an intermediary party. The same as France and Germany. But the EU got it into their heads that all the mess in Donbass was organized by Russia. Now they demand that the Russian Federation fulfill the Minsk agreements, where it has no special obligations, since it is not a party to the conflict. Apparently, the West expects that Russia will exert political pressure on the DPR and LPR. But, apparently, this will not happen. Because if you follow this path, you automatically recognize yourself as a party to the conflict in the eyes of the West.
