Oven baked pork leg

If you need to cook something special and as satisfying as possible for the intended feast, pay attention to this dish. After cooking, the pork knuckle, baked in the oven, is cut into thin slices and poured with sauce from a baking sheet.

Ingredients for roasting pork:

  • a pork leg weighing about 13 kilograms;
  • garlic head;
  • ½ bottle of dry red wine;
  • a tablespoon of ground black pepper;
  • 4 tablespoons of coarse salt;
  • aromatic spices (thyme, oregano, savory).

Remove the skin from the pork leg. Fat you do not need to cut off, otherwise the meat may turn out to be dry.

The second step of the recipe is to cut out a portion of the pelvic bone. As a result, the leg should weigh about nine kilograms after all the manipulations.

Turn the pork leg upside down. Make deep holes in the leg. Insert peeled garlic cloves into them.

Place the pork leg upside down on a baking sheet. Put it in the oven for ten minutes at 210 degrees.

Reduce the temperature in the oven to 180 degrees. Thirty minutes later, pour the pork leg with fat from the baking sheet. Pork leg is baked for three hours.
