What is the active part of the musculoskeletal system?
The active part of the musculoskeletal system is the skeletal musculature, which is attached to the passive part - the skeleton and provides movement of the living organism by contraction and relaxation of muscle fibers.
The human skeleton consists of many bones interconnected by ligaments and joints and is considered the passive part of the musculoskeletal system. After all, the bones themselves are capable of moving only in cartoons or fantastic works. In reality, the skeleton is motionless. To make it move, you need muscles or an active part of the musculoskeletal system. Skeletal muscles, and there are other types of muscles in the human body, are responsible for the movement of bones and the preservation of the shape loyal to them - they hold the bones, and with them the whole body, in a certain position. Sometimes holding a pose turns out to be more difficult and energy consuming than movement.
