What is a boulevard?
The boulevard is an alley or strip of green space in the middle of the street (originally on the site of the former city ramparts) intended for walking. The boulevards are also used for pedestrian traffic, recreation and protect sidewalks and buildings from dust and noise. a place where it is good to have a rest with a family and also a place where vendors and tents with various drinks and food often stand.
These are city driveways with landscaping, pedestrian paths, benches, broken, as a rule, in place of the demolished city walls and ditches. They have a ring structure and are used for walking. The French boulevard is borrowed from the Dutch bolwerk - fortress wall.
